Peggy June Sims passed away Monday, Dec. 8, 2014 while under the loving care of hospice with family and friends around her. She was born March 5, 1944 in Sedro Woolley, Wash. to Walter and Amelia Sims. Peggy was raised on family farms located in the Cheney and the West Plains area. She attended school first in Cheney and later graduated from Reardan High School.
Peggy attended Eastern Washington University, receiving her bachelor's of arts degree. Peggy remained in Spokane where she worked and retired as a caseworker for DSHS. Peggy served God through ministry with children at her church, Fourth Memorial, and ministering to women by housing them in her home while they attended the Moody Bible Institute.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, granddaughter, sister, brother, twin sister, cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. A service was held at Fourth Memorial church in Spokane on Monday Dec. 15.
To honor Peggy's life, the family suggests a donation in lieu of flowers to the Angel tree foundation in her name.
