United Church of Christ

Three special events of the Christmas season occur this week.

In the first special event since pastor Dave is out of town, pastor George Abrams will preach the Sunday worship service at 10 a.m. Dec. 7, and he will use the words of an ancient communion liturgy. All are welcome to our open communion.

The second, “A Christmas Story,” is planned for the “Family Movie Night” on Friday at 6 p.m. The movie is free. If you can, bring snacks and friends to share them.

Third, the EWU Choir concert will be held at 7 p.m. at the United Lutheran Church in Spokane. As a result, the choir will practice “Heard about a Newborn King,” not at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5, but at 9 a.m. Sunday.

For the fourth event, the children’s Christmas program, please notify the church office if your family will be coming to the practice at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 and participating in the program Sunday, Dec. 14.

United Methodist Church

Please join us for worship this Sunday morning at the United Methodist Church as we celebrate the second Sunday of Advent. Pastor Alissa Bertsch-Johnson will lead the morning service, which will include the celebration of Holy Communion. Worship, Sunday school classes and study groups are following the Advent study “Celebrate” in the weeks leading to Christmas. What a joyous time to join us in worship.
