Council votes to prohibit marijuana businesses in city
The city of Medical Lake finally made a decision on the business side of marijuana.
At its Nov. 18 meeting, the City Council passed an ordinance that prohibits the production, processing and retail of marijuana products within city limits. The ordinance carried a recommendation from the Planning Commission.
City Administrator Doug Ross said the decision was based on Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson’s opinion that cities can ban marijuana businesses.
