American Legion Turkey Bingo
The Cheney American Legion Auxiliary is sponsoring a Turkey Bingo and Diaper Drive for military families. The fun is open to the public and takes place Sunday, Nov. 23, from 2 – 6 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 116 College Ave.
There will be 22 games total, 20 regular games with a $20 payout and two blackouts at $50 each. There will also be chilidogs, cake and soda pop for sale and a handmade quilt along with two Thanksgiving-themed baskets will be raffled for $1 per ticket.
Proceeds from the quilt raffle will go to “Raise the Roof.”
StageWest audtions Nov. 14-15
StageWest CT, Inc. is holding open auditions for the February/March play “How The West Was Fun” written by James L. Seay and directed by Kay Byron Pacheco.
Auditions will be held at Cheney’s Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 639 Elm St. on Friday Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. and Saturday Nov. 15 at 11 p.m.
Rehearsals will begin in January 2015 and the play will run starting the last weekend of February. For more information contact Kay at 235-5742.
Christmas Child collections
The annual collection week for Operation Christmas Child is Nov. 17 – 23. The drop-off is open noon – 3 p.m. each day, located along State Route 904 just off Meadow Lake Road, mile marker 15. Look for the big sign on west side of highway.
