Feed Cheney, Oct. 27
Feed Cheney is back at the Wren Pierson Community Center on Oct. 27 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. after a summer of meals in city parks. This will be a free hot meal served family style by volunteers.
Feed Cheney is courtesy of Women and Children’s Free Restaurant, several Cheney churches, 2nd Harvest, and Lets Move Cheney, and usually falls on the last Monday of each month. In October there will also be free flu shots and free coats in addition to the free groceries and entertainment. The clothing bank is open from 5-6:30 p.m.

Cheney Book Club meeting
“Swamplandia,” a colorful novel set in southern Florida, is the October selection of the Book Discussion Group of the Friends of the Cheney Community Library. The group meets Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. at the library and all are welcome to attend.
“Swamplandia” is a failing amusement park featuring alligators and run by the Bigtree family. When their mother dies and their father leaves, Ava, her sister Osceola and brother Kiwi are left to fend for themselves through astonishing, amusing and sometimes terrifying adventures.

St. John’s Bazaar
St. John’s Lutheran Church, 223 S. Hallett St., Medical Lake will hold its annual bazaar and rummage sale on Friday, Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. — 7 p.m. (rummage sale closes at 4 p.m.) and Saturday from 9 a.m. — 4 p.m. (rummage sale closes at 3 p.m.). Lefse, apple cider, St. John’s famous sausage, new craft items and other baked goods are on the menu. There will also be a quilt raffle. Lunch and dinner menu features a new food item: Mexican salad. Young Life Pie Palooza
The first annual Pie Palooza is taking place Monday, Nov. 3, from 6:30 – 8 p.m. at the Cheney Middle School. The event benefits the Young Life organization.
