The Eastern Washington University Alumni Association is partnering with Washington Trust Bank and KREM 2 at the Saturday, Oct. 18, Military Appreciation Game to gather “Treats 2 Troops.”
The association is collecting items to put together more than 400 care packages to send to the men and women serving overseas this holiday season. Care package items may be brought to the Red Zone Tailgate before Saturday’s game. Top requested items include beef jerky, Via Packs (Starbucks Instant Coffee), micro-waveable meals, eye drops, hygiene wipes/hand wipes (unscented), hard candy (Jolly Ranchers, etc.), soft toilet paper, lens cleaning cloths, hot sauce/condiments, Nerf balls/Frisbees/outdoor games and hand-held electronic games.
In addition, the EWU Alumni Association will have postcards in the Red Zone Tailgate for you to write notes of thanks to include in the packages.
