St. Paul’s Episcopal Church

All are welcome. A welcoming haven, nourishing all God’s people in body, mind and spirit.

Oct. 19 is the 19th Sunday after Pentecost. Holy Communion is at 11 a.m. The Rev. Christine Soule will preach and preside.

We are pleased to welcome our new choir director, Alexandra Rannow, currently pursuing her master’s degree in music at Eastern Washington University. Regular rehearsals are every Thursday in the sanctuary, 6 —7 p.m. We invite singers of all ages and experience, members and non-members alike, to join us.

Attention college students: Each Monday at 5 p.m. you are invited to join us for dinner, study and devotions. We are a group of college students and young adults who take our faith journeys seriously, serious enough to show up and engage in ministry to and with each other.

We are not necessarily all Episcopalians and we have no “litmus test” of belief to which you must subscribe. We believe God loves and values you. We believe that it is important to take the time in this busy age and culture to stop, listen and come together for prayer, worship, study and meals. All are welcome.

Narcotics Anonymous meets Tuesday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. in the parish hall.

Fellowship breakfast is each Thursday morning at 7:30 a.m. in the parish hall. Join us for good food, fellowship and discussion. Come and bring a friend.

For your contemplation: “Healing means, first of all, the creation of an empty but friendly space where those who suffer can tell their story to someone who can listen with real attention. As healers we have to receive the story of our fellow human beings with a compassionate heart, a heart that does not judge or condemn but recognizes how the stranger’s story connects with our own. We have to offer safe boundaries within which the often painful past can be revealed and the search for a new life can find a start,” Henri Nouwen.

St. Paul’s is located at 625 C St. on the edge of the EWU campus.

United Church of Christ

On Sunday, pastor David Krueger-Duncan will be speaking at the 10 a.m. worship service, and all are invited to attend. Childcare is provided in the Christian education building from 9:45 – 11:15 a.m. Children ages 3 — 11 will enjoy the many activities set up in their Sunday school.

During the fellowship time after church, friends new and old will chat over refreshments.
