Lakeland needs pumpkins
The Medical Lake Kiwanis and Medical Lake High School Key Club are holding the 37th annual Pumpkin Carving for clients at Lakeland Village on Oct. 22.
Anyone willing to contribute to the event should contact Duane Wolfe at (509) 939-6539. There is a need for 60 pumpkins.
State archive open house
The Eastern Regional Branch of the State Archives is hosting an open house Saturday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The event includes tours of the Eastern branch facility that day at 10:15 a.m. and at 1 p.m.
There will be a 10:30 a.m. presentation on how to use the State Digital Archives (which is in the same building), including how to access its records and what new records or features have been added or made available this year. A similar presentation will be made about the Eastern branch archives at noon.
The Eastern Regional Branch is located at 960 Washington St. in Cheney.
ML book club meets Oct. 13
The Medical Lake Book Club will meet Monday, Oct. 13 to discuss the 2014 Spokane is Reading selection, “Swamplandia,” by Karen Russell. Social time begins at 12:30 p.m. with meeting and discussion starting at 1 p.m.
Medical Lake Library is located at 321 E. Herb St. All are welcome to attend. Check with your library for a schedule of events during Spokane is Reading, including presentations by the author.
Feed Medical Lake Oct. 13
Feed Medical Lake says, “It’s Harvest Time.”
Come get out of the cold and warm up with turkey-rice soup, crackers, salad, mixed fruit, and pudding on Monday, Oct. 13, 5-6 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 223 S. Hallett St. There will also be free groceries for everyone.
