Detective Chuck Haley from the Sexual Assault Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children investigator with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office will make a presentation on Internet safety, Wednesday, Oct. 1 from 6-7 p.m. in the Medical Lake Middle School library.
According to a news release, the presentation will focus on Internet safety issues that youth are exposed and vulnerable to on a daily basis.
The presentation will include cyberbullying, awareness of internet predators and implications with youth accessing Facebook and other social media. Haley will share what the Sheriff’s Office can do to help keep children safe and what laws are in place to protect them.
All parent guardians of students attending Medical Lake schools are strongly encouraged and invited to attend the presentation to learn ways to ensure online safety for children. This evening presentation is for parents and guardians only. Students will be receiving an age-appropriate presentation during the school day.
