Emmanuel Lutheran Church

All are welcome this Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014 to worship with us at Emmanuel Lutheran Church at 10:30 a.m. Christian education for grade school through adult meets at 9 a.m. Fellowship follows the worship service. Mark your calendars for Saturday, Nov. 8 for our annual holiday church Bazaar and Luncheon from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. More details to come.

United Church of Christ

Hard to choose between an ice cream social and a display of American Indian art? Maybe you won’t have to. Hear about them during the church service this Sunday. And, yes, Sunday school has started.

All are welcome to the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service led by Pastor David Krueger-Duncan in the sanctuary located at 423 N. Sixth St. He plans to complete his three-part message on Atonement.

Children ages 3-12 are invited to attend Sunday School or to stay in the service with their parents. Children under five may go to the nursery from 9:45 to 11:15 a.m.

Whether it’s sharing news with our friends or discussing more serious issues, we do love to talk. The men of the church gather before church at 7:45 a.m. at Willow Springs Restaurant on the second and fourth Sundays. Lots of us chat weekly during the coffee hour after church. Please join us.

United Methodist Church

Saturday, Sept. 20, the UMC Birthday Bunch will go to Xanny’s on Williams Lake for breakfast. The no-host event begins at 9 a.m.

Please join us worship this Sunday morning at the United Methodist Church. Worship is at 10 a.m. and will be led by the the Rev. Alissa Bertsch Johnson. Preceding the service there are Sunday school classes for ages 3-adult at 9 a.m. Following worship this week there will be a benefit organ recital a on by EWU student and church organist Taylor Giese. This is open to the public.

A second worship service is at 6 p.m. Sunday evening. It is conversational in style and open to all. Visitors and newcomers to the Cheney area will find a warm welcome at UMC.
