Cards tune-up at Davenport, play in Freeman Tourney

Medical Lake’s girl’s volleyball team kicked off its 2014 season competing in the Davenport Tournament last Saturday.

“We played Bridgeport, Davenport, Omak and Almira-Coulee-Hartline,” head coach Amanda Higgins said. “We lost all four matches, however we played pretty good.” No scores or stats were available.

The initial outing allowed Higgins to give the team an opportunity to play multiple positions, she said.

“We did get a little tired by the end of the day but all in all I was pretty happy with what I saw,” Higgins said. “It gives me an idea what we still need to work on before the season...
