Coats from Cheney's 2010 Coats 4 Kids drive are lined out for distribution at Salnave Elementary School.
The annual Coats 4 Kids/Cheney Community Coat Drive is underway now.
Coats can be donated at any of the local Cheney School District schools or at many local churches and businesses beginning Sept. 15. All of the coats are being cleaned in cooperation with Coats4Kids and also at Big Wash in Cheney.
Collection will continue through Oct. 17 with the first distribution being on Friday, Oct. 24 at Sunset Elementary from 3 – 5 p.m. Coats will be at two distribution sites Saturday, Oct. 25 – Salnave Elementary School, 1015 Salnave Road and Westwood Middle School, 6120 S. Abbott Road from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
An additional distribution will be on Monday, Oct. 27 at the Feed Cheney dinner at the Wren Pierson Community Center from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
The Coat 4 Kids committee thanks the local Kiwanis Club who will once again be transporting coats from collection sites to the cleaners and back to the distribution site. Please donate generously to help provide a warmer winter for the families of the West Plains area.
