Blood mobile at Cheney STCU
Inland Northwest Blood Center along with the Cheney Community Blood Drive volunteers led by Duane Isaac will be coordinating a blood drive Friday, Aug. 22, at the Cheney Spokane Teachers Credit Union branch, 2718 First Street.
Donation hours are from 1– 4:30 p.m.
INBC needs an average of 200 blood donors every day to meet the needs of more than 35 hospitals in the Inland Northwest. A single donation can save the lives of up to three people.
Feed Medical Lake Aug. 25
Feed Medical Lake will give away the last of the summer sack suppers on Monday, Aug. 25, from 5-6 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Residents are encouraged to pick up one for each member of your family.
The next regular meal will be Sept. 8 from 5-6 p.m. at the same location. The Back to School supper is spaghetti with or without meatballs, salad and garlic bread. Dessert will be a choice of apple and/or peach cobbler. All are welcome.

Veterans memorial tribute
The Washington State Veterans Cemetery will hold a Veterans Memorial Tribute on Tuesday Aug. 26, 2014 at 3p.m. Military Honors will be offered to 75 Spokane area veterans who recently passed away but did not receive honors.
The service is open to the public.
