S.C.O.P.E. to celebrate Night Out Against Crime

The Spokane County Sheriff Community Oriented Policing Effort (S.C.O.P.E.) welcomes the public to attend the 31st Annual Night Out Against Crime event, Tuesday, Aug. 5, happening throughout Spokane County.

In an effort to reduce crime, neighborhoods, apartment complexes, homeowner’s associations, military bases and other venues will be having parties in order to connect with residents.

Local law enforcement, fire departments and emergency personnel will be making a presence at the various events.

The public is invited to lock their doors, turn on outside lights, keep watch over their neighborhood and enjoy a potluck, barbeque, ice cream social safety fair and more.

National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW). For more information about the NATW, the history of the event or the participation at the national level, visit http://www.natw.org/nno.
