USPS Stamp Out Hunger

The 22nd annual Association of Letter Carrier’s “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive in conjunction with the U.S. Postal Service is Saturday, May 10.

Just leave a non-perishable food donation in a bag by the mailbox and the postal carrier will do the rest. It’s that simple and millions of Americans will be helped.

Food banks and pantries often receive the majority of their donations during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday seasons. By springtime, many pantries are depleted, entering the summer low on supplies at a time when many school breakfasts and lunch programs are not available to children in need.

ML book club meeting

The Medical Lake Friends of the Library will be discussing “Half Broke Horses: A True Life Story” by Jeannette Walls. The Monday, May 12, meeting starts with a social hour and refreshments at 12:30 p.m., followed by a book discussion at 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome. The club meets in the ML. Feed Medical Lake this Monday

Feed Medical Lake will serve tuna noodle casserole with peas, salad, and fruit, May 12. Girl Scout Junior Troop 2537 will be serving sundaes for dessert.  As always the meal is free. Call Joanna 714-1150 for directions.
