ML boys earn NEA tennis win

The No. 2 doubles team of John Pineda and Tyler Krivolavy earned the lone victory last Thursday for Medical Lake in a 6-1 non-league tennis loss at Cheney, scoring a 6-7(2-7), 6-4, 6-0 win.

The Cardinals rebounded to claim a 4-1 Northeast A League win the following afternoon at home to Riverside where Pineda and Krivolavy earned their second win in as many days. No. 2 singles Trevor Nilles, No. 3 singles Colten Miller and the No. 1 doubles duo of Dakota Houger and Alex Neder also earned victories.

In girls’ play Thursday, the Cardinals fell 3-2 to the Rams with Annette Carlson and Cassidy Hagel at No. 1 doubles scoring an easy 6-1, 6-0 victory. The No. 2 doubles team of Mary Lewan and Katelynn Houger were also winners, 6-1, 6-1.

The Cardinals will be in action this weekend at the Inland Empire Tournament across various sites in Spokane.
