CHS FLBA receives honors at state competition

Seventeen students advance to national convention

The Cheney FBLA Club (Future Business Leaders of America) competed at the Washington State Business Leader conference this past weekend, April 17-20, in Seattle.

Club members and the club received numerous awards and recognition, including being recognized as a Gold Seal chapter, the largest chapter in its region and the most professional members.

In competition, the Blackhawks' chapter had 55 students attend the conference. At the awards ceremony 26 different students placed in the top five in state 25 times with 17 students placing first, second or third to earn automatic entry to the FBLA national conference, June 27-30 in Nashville, Tenn.

Lastly, the chapter's advisor, Adam Smith, was recognized for this year's "Outstanding Local Chapter Advisor" award.

Eighteen hundred students attended the FBLA State Leadership conference. The list of Cheney winners is below by name, event and placing:
