For a second year in a row the Eastern Washington University football team begins preparations for their upcoming season with a chip on its collective shoulder.
Spring practice begins Friday, April 4 with the memory of Towson University’s 35-31 Football Championship Subdivision victory last Dec. 21 at Roos Field. The visiting Tigers rallied in the final 5 minutes, 9 seconds and erased a 10-point EWU lead sending the Towson onto the national championship game in Frisco, Texas. Two years ago EWU’s furious rally fell short in a 45-42 semifinal loss to Sam Houston.
The Eagles will spread 14 practices over 28 days, concluding drills May 1. Included will be a pair of scrimmages and the annual Red-White Game Saturday, April 26 at 2 p.m. at Roos Field.
