Claude A. "Arnie" Williams, age 89, of Marshall, Wash. passed away March 20, in Spokane.
Arnie was born in Harriman, Tenn. May 13, 1924 and moved to Spokane at the age of 11.
He was a graduate of Cheney High School.
He was a World War II veteran seeing action as a Navy medic in the Philippines. Arnie retired from the U.S. Navy in 1970 and returned to Marshall in 1971.
Arnie worked as an x-ray technician for the state of Washington at Lakeland Village.
He loved collecting cars, especially classic Mustangs. Ruth and Arnie were members of the Inland Empire Convertible Club.
He is survived by his wife of over 68 years, Ruth F. Williams, sons Danny (Vickie) of Waldorf, Md. and Steve of Spokane; great-grandchildren (Chase, Zach, Bryce and Morgan from parents Tammy and Jeff); brother Ray (Shirley) Williams; nephews Ron (Berta) Bennett and Mike Williams; nieces Cobina Bennett and Mallory (Bill) Williams Anderson.

His sister Geneva Bennett preceded him in death.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, March 25, at Cheney Funeral Chapel. Burial was at Spokane Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
