Norman M. Peterson

Norman M. Peterson died peacefully on Dec. 28, 2013 at Cheney Care Center in Cheney Wash. He was born Aug. 19, 1920 in Minneapolis Minn. He lived to see 93 years.

Norm is survived by his wife, Esther of 26 years and two stepchildren, Gary McGill of Bellingham and Judi Edwards of Cheney. He was predeceased by both his parents and two younger brothers.

There will be a memorial chapel service at Cheney Funeral Home, Friday Jan. 10, 2014 at 2 p.m. He will be laid to rest at Washington Memorial Cemetery in Seattle on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014 at 11 a.m.

Norm was a machinist at Seattle City Light for over 30 years and a blacksmith at Skagit River Dam. He enjoyed many hours in his machine shop at home, traveling, gardening and working on his Volkswagen Bug. Norm loved writing letters to local politicians, city newspaper editors and legislators in Washington D.C. In 1987 he ran for Renton City Council.

Norman is so loved and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
