Patricia Ryan

Pat Ryan, 73, passed away Friday, June 7, 2013 surrounded by family in her daughter’s home in Moses Lake, Wash. under the care of Assured Hospice.

Pat was born in Los Angeles, Calif., to Patrick and Muriel (Cummings) Ryan. She graduated from Mary Mount High School in 1957. She married Doug Boole in 1959, spent 13 years as an Air Force wife, raised four children on air bases and then lived and worked in Spokane and Omak, Wash. Pat then moved to Cheney to work as the library’s financial administrator at Eastern Washington University, where she received a bachelors of arts in general studies. She enjoyed traveling to Canada and Ireland tracing her family roots. She and her dog, Tucker, retired to Port Townsend, Wash. to fulfill a longtime dream of hers to live close to “her” water.

Pat’s love of community and people made her a mover and a shaker at Eastern. She loved the community of Cheney and working with students, as education was very important to her. She proudly announced that all of her children, their spouses and several grandchildren are all EWU graduates.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, and two daughters, infant Lisa Boole and Laura Klimek (Boole).

Mom will be missed by her three children and their spouses, Jean (Dave), Kelly (Jeff), and Doug (Tana) and their father, Doug (Pam). Grandy has eight grandchildren: Bryan, Christina, Kristen, Megan, DeeJ, Darby, Erin, Brenna, and great-grandchildren: Bryce, Jamisen, and Nathaniel.

Pat loved children, traveling, building her vocabulary, and conversing with friends. Her family appreciates all of the love and support given by her Cheney friends these past few months.
