Cheney High School senior Chris Knox took first place in the state in the solo trumpet division at the WIAA/WMEA Solo Ensemble Festival held April 27.
Knox topped seven finalists from Snohomish, Pullman, Shorecrest, Stadium, Emerald Ridge and Mercer Island high schools in the competition at Central Washington University in Ellensburg....
