Emmanuel Lutheran Church celebrates the Sixth Sunday of Easter this Sunday, May 5, 2013. Christian education for grade school children through adults begins at 9 a.m. All are welcome to worship at 10:30 a.m. Fellowship follows at 11:30 a.m.
StageWest thanks Emmanuel Lutheran Church for graciously sharing their facility for StageWest’s spring production of “Arsenic and Old Lace” directed by Kay Pacheco. Play dates are May 3-5 and May 10-12. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7 p.m. Sunday matinees are at 3 p.m. Ticket prices are $12 for adult and $10 for seniors, students and children. Reservations are needed for High Tea on Mother’s Day, May 12. High Tea tickets are $25. For more information go to http://www.stagewestct.org.

United Church of Christ
Sunday, May 5 is the day of pastor Dave Krueger-Duncan’s installation at 3 p.m., followed by a reception hosted by the Women’s Fellowship. Contact Maryann Donley to offer to bring cookies or to help with the reception. Don’t miss it!
Pastor David Krueger-Duncan will also lead the communion service during the 10 a.m. worship service, in the United Church of Christ located at 423 N. Sixth St. All are welcome.
Before and after the church service you may have your family picture taken for the church directory. After May 12 (Mothers Day) the church photo directory will be printed.
Child care is available in the nursery from 9:45-11:15 a.m. Please join friends new and old for the Fellowship Hour following the service.
Speaking of Mothers Day, the church youth will be raising money for scholarships to their camp at N-Sid-Sen by selling hanging baskets and annual flowers the Saturday just before that, May 11. We’d like to send all our kids to camp; please help with the scholarships.
United Methodist Church
The United Methodist congregation will be joining other Cheney churches in a National Day of Prayer Thursday, May 2. A prayer observance for the nation will be held at the Cheney Community Church from 7-8 p.m.
Please join us for worship at the UMC beginning at 10 a.m. each Sunday. The Rev. Terry Hall will lead the service that will include the celebration of Holy Communion. There are Sunday school classes for all ages at 9 a.m. each week.
Sunday evening there will be a Bloomsday Fiesta for Cinco de Mayo at the church at 5 p.m. Bring your favorite Mexican dish to share for the potluck meal and then stay for fellowship or join in the conversational worship service at 6 p.m.
