JoAnn L. (Neglay/Johnson) Keele, age 73 died Feb. 18, 2013 at her home in Cheney, Wash.
She was born to the late Dale and Margaret Neglay on June 11, 1939. JoAnn married the late Merril (Butch) Johnson in 1956. They lived in many cities throughout the United States and Canada.
She worked many years with her husband Butch throughout their 46 years of marriage as a bookkeeper. JoAnn and Butch loved to travel and went on numerous cruises. She spent the last seven years of her life married to the love of her life, the late LeRoy Keele. Together they enjoyed modified racecars and racing, camping and four-wheeling with family and friends. JoAnn”s greatest joy was her children, she also loved the outdoors/nature, birds, crocheting, Sudoku, and her beloved pets, Buddy-Boo, Soup, Taz and Cupcake.
She is survived by her children; Deborah Zank of Vancouver, Wash.; Dawn (Tim) O’Neill of Spokane, Wash.; Mike (Connie) Johnson of West Linn, Ore. and Mark (Mary) Johnson of Eugene, Ore.; sisters; Vicky (Gary) Wallace of Castlerock Wash., Bonnie (Gerrald) Chisman of Orofino, Idaho and brother Dale (Janice) Neglay of Moscow, Idaho. She had nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
People knew JoAnn as a woman of warmth, wisdom and great insight. When we think of our mother we think of love, caring and kindness. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, at Cheney Funeral Chapel, 1632 W First St. Online guestbook at cheneyfuneral.com.
