With senior Adam Paulson pouring in a team and game-high 17 points, Medical Lake opened their Northeast A League boys’ basketball schedule with an easy 53-28 win last Friday night at Riverside.
Most of Paulson’s points came from long distance as he connected on five 3-pointers to jump-start the Cardinals (1-0 NEA, 3-3 overall) to 27-9 halftime lead.
Freshman Jordan Rohweder pitched in with 9 points and senior Austin Garza 7 and Seth Hansen 6.
Last Tuesday the Cardinals fell in their final non-league contest, 43-38 to Great Northern League newcomer Colville as Garza scored 14 and Paulson 13.
The Indians broke open a close game where Colville led 22-17 at the half by outscoring the Cardinals 22-6 and ML’s rally with a 15-9 edge in the final period fell short.
Medical Lake hosts Freeman Friday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. in their final game before the Christmas break. They return to action Dec. 28-29 at the West Valley Tournament.
