Construction to cause EWU campus power outages

To facilitate the electrical connection of the new Eastern Washington University residence hall to the campus high voltage electrical system, a series of electrical shutdowns will occur at EWU Wednesday, Sept. 12.

Affected buildings and offices will be offline and will be closed for the period of the shutdown. All of these buildings have back-up emergency power for fire alarms and emergency lighting, but normal power for other services will not be available.

The following buildings will be affected on Wednesday, Sept. 12 from 6 a.m. to noon: Robert Reid Lab School, JFK Library, Martin and Williamson halls, Huston Hall, Plant Utilities, Showalter Hall, Senior Hall, Kingston Hall, Monroe Hall and Hargreaves Hall.

Buildings that will be affected Wednesday, Sept. 12 from 1-7 p.m. are: Patterson Hall, Isle Hall, Dryden Hall, University Recreation Center, Morrison/Streeter Halls, PUB, Louise Anderson Hall, Tawanka Hall and Sutton Hall.
