The Spokane County Treasurer's Office reminds county property owners that the first half of 2012 property taxes are due by April 30. Payments mailed to the Treasurer's Office must be postmarked on or before the due date and the public is advised to make sure payments are dropped at a U.S. Postal Service box or station early enough to be postmarked by the tax deadline.
State law dictates that county treasurers recognize only the cancellation date applied by the USPS to determine timeliness of payments.
Payment options include e-checks, credit cards via the Internet and debit/credit cards in the office. Online payments can be made at http://www.spokanecounty.org/treasurer and following the instructions.
Credit card phone payments may be made by dialing 1-800-272-9829 and entering jurisdiction code 5606. Payments can be mailed to the Treasurer's Office at:
Spokane County Treasurer
P.O. Box 199
Spokane WA 99210-0199
The Treasurer's Office normal business hours will be extended Friday, April 27 to 4 p.m. to accommodate late payers.
