Doris M. Splichal, age 101, entered into rest on Feb. 7, 2012 at her home in Cheney. She was born in Sandpoint, Idaho on Sept. 7, 1910.
She lived on the family farm in Moscow-Pullman area and was a graduate of Pullman High School, class of 1928. Doris attended secretarial school and worked for the Pullman Phone company, the Pullman Hospital and the Soil Conservation Service.
She married Ed Splichal in 1948 and moved to a farm in the Cheney area where she lived with her husband and their two daughters, Patty and Helen. After the death of her daughter Helen, she raised her two grandsons, Curtis and Dana Johnson. Doris moved to Cheney in 1976 where she resided until her death.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Testerman of Walla Walla, Wash. Six grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Feb. 13, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cheney. A reception followed in the Parish Hall. Burial was next to her husband at Spokane Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Online guestbook at cheneyfuneral.com. Cheney Funeral Chapel, Cheney, Wash.
