Preservation Advocates think the Cheney Depot matters to region

The historic Cheney Depot was recently added to a list of places the Spokane Preservation Advocates deem important to the region's heritage, called the “Spokane Matters List.” Built in 1927, the SPA deemed the depot important for its connection to the state's railroad history as well as its unique Mission Revival style architecture. The depot is in danger of being lost if it is not moved from its current site between the train tracks just east of downtown Cheney. While a Facebook group “Save the Cheney Depot” was formed last year, an organized effort to move and preserve the building has not yet materialized.
