First joint firefighter training session graduates recruits

After nearly 200 hours of in-class training, 19 recruits have earned their credentials for Firefighter I and Hazardous Materials Operations in the first official joint training venture on the West Plains between Fire District 10, Fire District 3 and the Airway Heights Fire Department.

Six graduates were from Airway Heights, one from Fire District 3 and 12 were from Fire District 10. Airway Heights Fire Chief Mitch Metzger said the training session began with 23 recruits, but four weren't able to complete the course.
