Veterans Cemetery honors those found through Missing in America Project

Remains of 62 veterans and spouses were honored at a ceremony Sept. 12 at the Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake.

The service was the largest mass inurnment in the Missing in America Project's history.

Patriot Guard Riders, members from Fairchild Air Force Base, state representatives and families gathered to honor veterans who were recovered from locations throughout the state.

The Missing in America Project recovers the remains of veterans from funeral homes and crematories across the nation. After 90 days, veterans cemeteries can retrieve unclaimed remains in order...
