Police reports: 6/20 to 6/27

CHENEY

June 20

Amy M. Braesch, 34, was arrested for driving while license suspended (DWLS) on the 600 block of Chestnut Street.

A bicycle was reported stolen on the 1000 block of Betz Road.

A 16-year-old runaway was reported on the 1500 block of Ridgeview Drive. The runaway returned home.

June 21

Items were taken from a vehicle on the 10 block of North Third Street.

A bicycle was found on the 3000 block of Normal Park Road.

Howard M. Crawford, 41, was arrested on the zero hundred block of Columbia Street for discharging a fire extinguisher and damaging a chair.

Residential burglary was reported on the 800 block of West First Street. A purse was taken.

A mental subject was transported to the hospital on the 800 block of West First Street.

Jason A. Dow, 30, was arrested on the 600 block of First for DWLS.

June 22

Domestic violence - verbal only - was reported on the 200 block of Presley Drive.

A musical instrument was stolen on the 1600 block of Sixth Street.

Residential burglary was reported on the 800 block of West First Street. A laptop was stolen.

June 23

Theft was reported on the 1100 of First Street.

Graffiti was reported on the zero hundred block of Spokane Street.

Two bicycles were reported stolen on the zero hundred block of West Second Street.

Orlando L. Peterson, 21, was arrested on the 100 block of Paradise Road for possession of marijuana.

Taylor A. Swearingen, 19, was arrested for driving under the influence on the 2600 block of First Street.

June 24

The latch on a shed was reported broken on the 400 block of Betz Road.

A motor vehicle was taken without owner's permission on the 2800 block of Eaton Lane.

Corey D. Garza, 21, and Joel Delatorre, 21, were each cited for a having a loud party.

June 25

A stop sign was knocked down on the 1100 block of Second Street.

A vicious animal was reported on the 100 block of Second Street.

Harassment was reported on the 700 block of West First Street.

A motor vehicle was taken without owner's permission on the 100 block of Betz Road.

June 26

A purse was reported stolen on the 200 block of South Cheney-Spangle Road.

Israel J. Saldivar, 29, was arrested on the 1000 block of First for the theft of a bicycle.

Jeanette M. Bittner, 37, was arrested for a Spokane robbery warrant.

A suspicious circumstance was reported. A brush fire, which appeared suspicious in nature, was reported on the 700 block of West First Street. The fire was put out.

June 27

A motor vehicle was taken without owner's permission on the 1500 block of Second Street.

A bicycle was found on the zero hundred block of West Second Street.

EASTERN WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY

June 22

University police assisted Cheney officers with an 8 a.m. domestic violence in progress at Salnave Park. Two juveniles, male and female, were fighting. Parents contacted and arrived.

June 23

Officers assisted Cheney police on a traffic stop on Paradise Road. An arrest was made.

University police were contacted regarding the suicide of a former university student in Camas, Wash. Administration wanted confirmation of the incident.

June 24

Officers assisted Cheney police in executing a search warrant at 3:45 p.m. on the 23000 block of South Leaning Tree Lane.

June 26

Officers assisted Cheney police at 5:30 p.m. with a possible domestic violence on the 800 block of West First Street. Verbal only, but it was determined the female had an outstanding warrant out of Spokane. Female arrested and transported.

June 27

A theft was reported at the Phase Complex. A male put his gear in a locker in the men's locker room around 2 p.m. and when he returned at 3 p.m. the facility was locked for the day. At 7 p.m. Monday morning he was able to retrieve his gear and discovered his wallet was missing. Upon checking he also discovered someone had used several of the credit cards. Incident is under investigation. If anyone witnessed any suspicious activity between 2 p.m. Sunday, June 27 and 7 a.m. Monday June 28 please contact the EWU Police Department at 359-4021.

MEDICAL LAKE

June 20

Police responded to a neighborhood dispute on the 300 block of East Lake Street. A male complainant did not want to return to his home, as he feared being beaten up by his neighbor. He spoke to the officer about options, and entered a temporary harassment order.

Police responded to a 911 hang-up on the 400 block of North Brower Street. A female caller hung up while waiting for a translator. Police listened to the call playback and believed the caller requested a doctor, although she denied needing medical assistance. Follow-up contact showed that everything was OK.

June 21

A noise complaint was reported on the 800 block of East Collin Avenue. Police contacted and advised a juvenile female regarding the noise ordinance. An arrest was not made.

Loud music was reported on the 400 block of East Barker Street. Police contacted a 43-year-old male, and gave him a verbal warning regarding his noise violation. His music was too loud after 10 p.m.

June 22

Police performed a traffic stop on East Lake Street and North Lefevre Street. The driver of a 2011 Ford Escape received a ticket for using a cellphone while driving.

A female was cited and released for a misdemeanor DWLS in the third degree at East Percival Street and North Stanley Street. A passenger in the 2004 Ford Explorer drove the vehicle back home.

June 23

Police attempted to serve a warrant on the 700 block of East Ladd Street. The male was not found at the address, and unable to be located.

Police responded to lewd conduct on the 600 block of Barker Street. Danny E. Leming, 29, was arrested for public urination and obstruction of a police investigation.

June 24

A traffic stop was performed on West Idaho Street and South Lefevre Street. The male driver of a 1993 Honda Accord received tickets for speeding and failure to provide proof of insurance. He was arrested for DWLS in the third degree and released at the scene.

Police responded to an alarm on the 200 block of East Barker Street. A male complainant on a cellphone reported four females in the parking lot and two on the roof of Medical Lake High School. They were seen kicking the building. At the same time, an alarm tripped in the library hall, as well as additional tripped alarms. Calls to the building were not answered. Police entered the building but found nothing damaged or missing. Teens were seen running just before the police arrived.

June 25

An audible alarm tripped on the northern door of Hallett Elementary. Calls were unanswered. Police found the gym door open. The building was secured and cleared after nothing was found out of place.

Police performed a traffic stop on East Herb Street and South Lefevre Street. The female driver of a 2002 Chevy Cavalier received an infraction for studded tires and having no operator's license on her person.

June 26

A traffic stop was performed on East Kathy Lee Avenue and North Stanley Street. Police stopped a 2002 Honda CBR600 motorcycle. A verbal warning for speeding was issued to the 20-year-old male driver.

Police performed a traffic stop on South Keene Road and West Medical Lake Highway. The 40-year-old driver of a 1999 Lincoln Navigator was stopped. Police seized expired tabs off of the vehicle's license plate, as the plates were switched. Infractions were also issued for failure to make the initial registration on the vehicle, for having no proof of insurance and for having switched vehicle tabs.

June 22

Officers took an information report regarding assault on the 700 block of South Ziegler Street.

Officers took a report of third-degree malicious mischief on the 1400 block of South Albert Street.

June 23

Officers took an information report regarding harassment on the 1800 block of South Lawson Street.

Officers took a report of third-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence) on the 13000 block of West 12th Avenue.

Officers took a report of second-degree robbery that occurred on 12th Avenue and King Street.

Officers took a report of vehicle theft on Graham Road.

An adult female was arrested for a warrant for failure to appear for third-degree DWLS on the 100 block of North Hayford Road.

Officers took a report of a domestic dispute on the 12000 block of West Frank Street.

June 24

An adult male was arrested for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) on the 12000 block of West Highway 2.

Officers took a report of domestic dispute on the 12000 block of West Chandler Avenue.

June 25

Officers took an information report regarding threats on 8th Avenue and Lawson Street.

Officers took a report of third-degree malicious mischief on the 12000 block of West 14th Avenue.

An adult male was arrested for third-degree DWLS (revoked) on Highway 2 and Lawson Street.

Officers took two reports of third-degree malicious mischief on the 600 block of South Horton Street.

June 26

Officers took a report of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) on the 13000 block of West 6th Avenue.

An adult female was arrested for third-degree theft on the 100 block of North Hayford Road.

An adult female was arrested for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) on the 1800 block of South Lawson Street.

Officers took an information report regarding domestic violence on the 12000 block of West 13th Avenue.

An adult male was arrested for obstructing a public servant and fourth-degree assault on the 100 block of North Hayford Road.

June 27

An adult female was arrested for first-degree criminal trespass in the on the 100 block of North Hayford Road.

Officers took a report of a code violation on the 1300 block of South Ziegler Street.
