Literary depictions

On Feb. 14 the Medical Lake Book Club did portrayals from author L. E. Braggs book “More Than Petticoats: Remarkable Washington Women.” Seven of the 16 biographies were presented by club members, some of whom like Mary Ann Longeway (right) came in costume of women depicted in the book. Longeway is dressed as Maude C. Lillie Bolin, a Yakima woman who was a cowgirl and an aviator. The reports were historically interesting and sparked good discussions about the difficulties faced by women in the pioneer days.
