Emmanuel Lutheran Church

Join us this Sunday, Jan. 23 at 10:30 a.m. as we celebrate the Third Sunday of Epiphany during our worship service. Pastor David Ophus will preside. Faith Building classes for all ages begins Sunday morning at 9 a.m.

Church of the Nazarene

Please join us at the Cheney Church of the Nazarene for worship and Bible study programs throughout the week; child care is provided. Sunday School (infants through adults) begins at 9:15 a.m. Worship services begin at 10:30 a.m. On Wednesday evenings, you are invited to attend an evening of fellowship and study for all age groups: Kids Konnection (ages 3-12) starts at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening adult Bible study programs and Youth Group begin at 6:30 pm. 338 Betz Rd., Cheney, (509) 235-6261.

St. Paul's Episcopal Church

All are welcome!

The Third Sunday after the Epiphany: Holy Eucharist at 11 a.m. Rev. Christine Soule, priest, will preach and preside. Child care is available.

St. Paul's Annual Meeting and potluck meal will be held on Sunday, Jan. 30. On Sunday, Feb. 6, we look forward to welcoming our Bishop, the Right Rev. James Waggoner, as Celebrant and Preacher for Confirmation and Reception of new members at St. Paul's.

Attention college students: Every Monday night (when EWU is in session) at 6 p.m., gather with Rev. Soule for Bible study, short prayer service and dinner in the Parish Hall. Learn of service opportunities. Come and bring your friends.

Narcotics Anonymous meets in the Parish Hall Tuesday and Saturday evenings at 7 p.m.

United Church of Christ

Everyone is welcomed to Pastor Joan Sulser's Bible study class, Christianity 101, meeting at the United Church of Christ, 423 N. Sixth St., on Sunday evenings from 6:30 - 8 p.m. Whether you get more out of readings, worksheets, videos or discussion, there will be some way for you to deepen your understanding on Jan. 23, when the topic is “The Holy Spirit.”

Are you practicing for the UCC Talent Show? Sign up with Joyce Malone to perform on the evening of Jan. 31. We're hearing of some interesting acts.

All are welcome to worship at the United Church of Christ on Sundays at 10 a.m. Children (age 3 to grade 8) may either go to their class after the Children's Minutes or stay in church with their parents. Little ones may stay in the child care room in the Christian Education building from 9:45-11:15 a.m. All interested men are welcome to join in breakfast conversation in the upper room at Willow Springs Restaurant, starting at 7:45 a.m. before the service. Sharing fellowship and snacks after the service is another time when everyone is welcome to join in.

Committee chairs, if you missed Wednesday's deadline for the newsletter, email your news today. The Washington Association of Churches sponsors the Eastern Washington Legislative Conference on Saturday, Jan. 22. On Tuesday, Jan. 24, a stewardship meeting will be held at 7 p.m.

If you want to reach out by feeding the hungry, you may get information through the UCC office (235-1493) about preparing lunch for the teens at Crosswalk on fourth Thursdays and preparing and serving dinner to Cheney families on the last Monday of the month.

United Methodist Church

If you are new to the community or looking for a church home you will find a warm welcome at the Cheney United Methodist Church! Please join us for worship and study on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. Leading this week's service will be the Rev. Terry Hall. Special music is provided each week by the chancel choir under the direction of Mary Jane Shervais. There will be Sunday school classes for ages 3 – adult prior to worship at 9 a.m. Childcare is available during the worship hour. Plan to stay and enjoy some fellowship time following the service.
