Possession of stolen property was reported on the 1100 block of First Street. A stolen rifle was recovered from Cheney Pawn.
A container of prescription medications was found on the 2700 block of North Sixth Street.
An iPod was reported stolen at Cheney High School.
A two-vehicle collision without injuries occurred on the 1700 block of Fourth Street.
Dec. 7
Domestic violence was reported on the zero hundred block of Vine Street—verbal only.
Residential burglary was reported on the 800 block of West First Street. Checkbooks and video games were taken.
Dec. 8
A 17-year-old female was arrested for domestic violence -related assault on the zero hundred block of Vine Street.
Cheney assisted EWU police in a marijuana possession arrest on the 400 hundred block of Third Street.
Dec. 9
Herbert L. Thompson, 43, was arrested for domestic violence on the 1200 block of First Street.
Dec. 10
Beer was stolen from the 1100 block of First Street.
CDs were reported stolen from a vehicle on the zero hundred block of Second Street.
A 16-year-old male was arrested at Cheney High School for possession of marijuana.
Dec. 11
A blue bicycle was found on the 300 block of F Street.
Dec. 12
Residential burglary was reported on the 1000 block of Betz Road. A computer and a camera were taken.
Theft of tools was reported on the 500 block of Buena Vista Street.
Edward P. Herres, 41, was arrested for first-degree child molestation on the 100 block of West Third Street.
Residential burglary was reported on the 1700 block of Third Street.
MEDICAL LAKE
Dec. 7
Officers served an eviction notice on the 300 block of South Washington Street. Animal services were called to take away a dog.
Officers received a report of a possibly suicidal subject on the 800 block of East Barker Street. Officers tried repeatedly to locate or contact the individual but were unsuccessful.
David K. Barnhart, 21, was arrested on the 300 block of South Washington Street on a warrant for a hit and run offense. Fourteen firearms were checked by police and left with the father of the accused.
Dec. 8
A 16-year-old male was arrested at Denny's Foods on a warrant for third-degree malicious mischief. The accused was also listed as a runaway.
Officers advised Child Protective Services after receiving a report of alleged abuse on the 400 block of east Highway 902.
Dec. 9
Police took a report of vehicle prowling on the 100 block of South Lefevre Street. A wallet was reported stolen.
Dec. 11
Officers assisted Airway Heights Police with an incident that occurred at the Airway Heights Walmart. Two women were seen arguing in the store, after which one was seen wielding a razor knife at the other in the parking lot. No party chose to bring criminal charges and no arrests were made.
A domestic violence order of protection violation was reported on the 1000 block of East Campbell Street.
Dec. 13
Officers took a report at Medical Lake Middle School that one student had threatened to cut another student at the school Dec. 10. The student who made the remarks was expelled.
Officers attempted to serve a warrant on the 800 block of West Maple Street but were unable to locate the subject.
Police performed a welfare check on the 200 block of East Herb Street where a hose was seen sticking out of a vehicle's exhaust pipe. A suicidal subject was involuntarily transferred to the hospital for a mental evaluation.
A complainant told police his daughter claimed her teacher had assaulted her at Medical Lake Middle School. An investigation revealed no crime had been committed and no charges were filed.
Police responded to a dead on arrival call, natural causes, on the 300 block of South Brower Street.
Police notified the fire department of a vehicle fire on the 300 block of East Lake Street.

Dec. 7
An adult female was arrested for third-degree DWLS on 13th Avenue and Lawson Street.
Dec. 8
Officers took a report of third-degree malicious mischief on the 13000 block of West 14th Avenue.
An adult female was arrested for fourth-degree assault on the 600 block of South Beeman Street.
Dec. 9
Officers took a report of assault on the 100 block of North Hayford Road.
Officers took a report of third-degree theft on the 12000 block of West 13th Avenue.
An adult female was arrested for identity theft, possession of stolen property and third-degree DWLS on Sprague Avenue and Russell Street.
Dec. 10
Officers took a report of a traffic accident/property damages on Highway 2 and King Street.
Officers took a report of traffic accident with damages on the 12000 block of West 1st Avenue.
An adult male was arrested for third-degree DWLS and DUI on Highway 2 and Lawson Street.
Dec. 11
An adult female was arrested for possession of a controlled substance on Highway 2 and Russell Street.
Officers took a report of a domestic dispute on the 1900 block of South Lawson Street.
An adult female was arrested for DUI on 14th Avenue and Mullen Street.
Dec. 12
An adult male was arrested for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, on the 1000 block of South West Street.
An adult male was arrested for third-degree theft, shoplifting, on the 12000 block of West 14th Avenue.
An adult female was arrested for first-degree criminal trespass on the 100 block of North Hayford Road.
Dec. 13
Officers took a report of first-degree attempted robbery on the 12000 block of West 14th Avenue.
Officers took a report of third-degree theft on the 11000 block of West Highway 2.
