Nov. 29
Theft of an iPod was reported on the 500 block of Lincoln Street.
A camera and camera equipment were reported stolen from a vehicle on the 800 block of W. First Street.
Briana G. Smith, 43, was arrested for driving while license suspended (DWLS) on the 100 block of Cheney-Spangle Rd.
Seventeen vehicles were impounded for snow removal in various locations in Cheney.
A two-vehicle collision occurred without injuries on the 200 block of Simpson Parkway.
A hit and run collision occurred on the 600 block of West First Street.
Nov. 30
A set of keys was reported found on the 2700 block of First Street.
A cell phone and car stereo were reported stolen from a vehicle on the 200 block of West Second Street.
A two-vehicle non-injury collision occurred on the 1000 block of Betz Road.
Dec. 1
Domestic violence was reported on the 200 block of Betz Road—verbal only.
A hit and run was reported on the 300 block of Seventh Street. The driver was identified and police are investigating.
Eric G. Arnst, 47, was arrested on a Spokane warrant for trespassing on the 600 block of Second Street.
A stolen vehicle was recovered on the 800 block of Oak Street. The vehicle was reported stolen in Spokane in September and was towed as part of Cheney's snow removal efforts.
A two-vehicle non-injury collision occurred on the 200 block of First Street.
Dec. 2
A property damage accident that resulted in a power outage occurred at the Willow Springs Motel, 5 B Street. An excavator snagged power lines and took down two power poles, causing a power outage from C to Pine Street for several hours. The accident occurred around 8 p.m. and full power was restored late afternoon on Dec. 3.
A hit and run collision occurred on the 2500 block of Al Ogdon Way.
Shaun M. Bewick, 22, was arrested for unlawful imprisonment, domestic violence assault, interfering with domestic violence reporting, obstructing a public officer and trespassing after officers responded to a domestic violence call on the 600 block of Second Street and Bewick ran. He was arrested about a mile southeast of the residence.
Dec. 3
John E. Richardson, 30, was arrested for shoplifting on the 100 block of West First Street.
A 14-year-old male was arrested at Cheney High School for being in possession of marijuana.
A debit card was reported stolen at a party in Cheney.
Tools were reported stolen from a vehicle n the 800 block of Salnave Road.
Ryan D. Brittain, 22, was arrested for DUI on the 100 block of West First Street.
Dec. 4
Ryan P. Kelley, 24, was arrested for domestic violence-related assault on the 500 block of West First Street.
Theft of a checkbook, cash, binoculars and a Zune from a vehicle was reported on the 700 block of West First Street.
Patricia J. Wood, 18, was arrested for urinating in public on the 500 block of F Street.
Dec. 5
First degree assault was reported on the 200 block of Seventh Street. Vehicle was used as a weapon.
A wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle on the 1100 block of Oakland Street.
Dec. 6
Second degree burglary was reported on the 1000 block of First Street.
MEDICAL LAKE
Nov. 30
Officers responded to a complaint of an unwanted guest at a residence on the 500 block of South Evergreen Drive. The 19-year-old suspect was sent home.
An accident with injuries was reported near South Brooks Road and West Highway 2. The vehicle was moved to the side of the road to prevent further hazard.
Dec. 1
An accident with injuries was reported near State Route 904 and westbound I-90. A complainant said he saw a vehicle spin out while trying to pass a semi-truck.
Dec. 3
Officers assisted Airway Heights police with a report of unwanted guests at a residence on the 700 block of South Ziegler Street. No arrests were made.
An officer received a call from a complainant in Soap Lake who said a Medical Lake woman claiming to be with the Social Security office had called her and was requesting her bank account numbers. A report was filed.
A woman called to report that she had received suspicious text messages from a Medical Lake man who informed her he had mistakenly sent her messages that were meant for a middle school-aged girl. A report was filed with the Spokane County Sex Crimes Unit.
Dec. 4
An accident with injuries was reported near West Aero Road and West Terrace Street. A woman said her vehicle was struck when she was attempting to make a U-turn. A tow-truck was called.
Dec. 5
Officers responded to an audible residential alarm on the 700 block of East Tara Lee Avenue.
Officers assisted Washington State Patrol at the WSP offices. A Lincoln County man told officers he had been repeatedly raped in June, but could provide little information and refused to undergo a voluntary mental evaluation. Officers referred him to the rape crisis network in Spokane.
Dec. 6
Officers issued a domestic violence protection order on the 800 block of West Maple Street.
An officer completed an annual, face-to-face verification of level one sex offenders living on the 200 block of South Hallett Street and on the 1000 block of North Wilcox Street.
