Cheney Clothing Exchange

The Cheney Clothing Exchange offers free clothing, outerwear, blankets and a small number of household items to those in need. The clothing exchange relies on donations to continue their service. There is no income requirement to use the service, but number of items is limited.
Cheney Food Bank
100 Anderson Road, in the Cheney Recycling Center. Call 235-2325.
Hours: Open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. the first four Wednesdays of the month in the Cheney Recycling Center, 100 Anderson Rd.
The Cheney Food Bank offers emergency food assistance to those who qualify. Canned, fresh and frozen food as well as limited toiletries and household items are available.
Cheney Meals on Wheels
Based at Cheney Care Center. Call 235-6196.
The Meals on Wheels program delivers frozen meals to people ages 60 and over who have difficulty preparing their own meals. Meals are delivered on a weekly, bi-monthly or monthly basis. A $3.50 per meal donation is suggested, but not required if unaffordable.
Cheney Outreach

Hours: Office open Tuesday and Wednesday 9-11:30 a.m., by phone Thursday 9-11:30 a.m.
The central assistance agency in Cheney, Cheney Outreach provides energy assistance, limited rental assistance, bus passes, recreation activities for children, school supplies, school clothing, park and recreation activities scholarships and referrals to more services within the County. Eligibility is based on income and depends on the size of the family. First-time applicants should call ahead and must provide current photo ID and proof of income.
Feed Cheney
423 N. Sixth St., in the UCC fellowship hall. Call 324-1659.
Hours: Last Monday of each month Sept-May. 5-6 p.m.
Volunteers serve a free hot meal to the community once a month. There is no income requirement to receive the meal, and community members are encouraged to bring friends and relatives who may need a healthy meal.
Medical Lake/Airway Heights
Medical Lake Care and Share/Community Outreach Center
211 N. Lefevre St., at the Dora Burt Center. Call 299-3819
Hours: Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Care and Share offers low-cost second hand clothing and other items while the outreach center gives emergency monetary assistance with events such as power shutoff notices or evictions. Funded through combined backing from local churches and donations. First-time applicants for outreach assistance should call ahead and must provide current photo ID and proof of income.
Medical Lake Food Bank

Hours: Fridays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The Medical Lake Food Bank offers emergency food assistance to those who qualify. Canned, fresh and frozen food as well as limited toiletries and household items are available.
Airway Heights Baptist Church Food Distribution Center
12322 Sunset Highway. Call 244-2474
Hours: First and third Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Since 2006 the Airway Heights Baptist Church has conducted food distribution. Available products include shelf stable items as well as produce and perishable products.
Medical Lake Senior Lunch Program
708 E. Lake St., in the St. Anne Parish Hall. Call 280-8618
Hours: Every Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
Seniors age 55 and older are invited to a weekly conversational lunch for $4, with assistance available for those who cannot pay.
