United Church of Christ

Members of the Cheney United Church of Christ will be able to nourish both their bodies and their souls, this Sunday. At 10 a.m. the communion service led by Pastor Joan Sulser in the sanctuary at 423 N. Sixth St. will give the opportunity for reflection. As usual, child care will be provided from 9:45 to 11:15 a.m., and Christian education classes will be held during the service, following the Children's Minutes, both in the Christian Ed building.

After the service the Women's Fellowship, comprising all church women, will enjoy a potluck lunch, while planning the bazaar on Nov. 6. Please think about what you can contribute to the Bazaar lunch, as well as what crafts or baked goods you can prepare for the sale. Just come and join the women: there's always enough to share.

Instead of lunch the men will have to “make do” with breakfast and discussion at 7:45 a.m. at the Willow Springs Restaurant.

One week only! Please bring new or gently used coats for the community coat drive and leave them in the collection box in the Narthex.

Remember to attend Pastor Joan Sulser's “Soul Tending” class on discernment at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 11. Those coming to the previous classes found them very interesting.

Deacons meet on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. Also, retirees will hold their potluck lunch on Thursday, Oct. 14.
