United Church of Christ
As part of our discerning who we are as a church, the members and friends of Cheney UCC are filling in the “Timeline of the History of Cheney UCC.” Each of us will label the year when we became involved with this church on the timeline in the Fellowship Hall. Please add your own name and date.
Though pastor Joan Sulser will be out of town from Monday until Friday, she will return to lead the congregation in the communion service on Sunday, July 4, in the sanctuary at 423 N. Sixth St. Children may go to child care from 9:45-11:15 a.m. after the Children's Moments or stay with their parents.
The church office will be open during these hours: Monday-Wednesday 9 a.m.-noon, and Thursday 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., but it will be closed Friday-Sunday. In case of an emergency, the pastor can be reached on her cell phone.
If you want to join the Dining Out groups, contact Phyllis Wilkerson, who will be reorganizing the groups, or leave a message in the church office.
Keep your attenae questing for news of a visioning opportunity in our search for a new minister. This opportunity will occur at the Stone Soup Sunday, July 25. Don't miss it!

United Methodist Church
What a wonderful way to celebrate the 4th of July and your freedom of religion – come to worship at the United Methodist Church of Cheney, located at 204 4th Street. Sunday morning worship is at 10 a.m. The Rev. Terry Hall returns to the pulpit this week and will lead the service. Holy Communion will be celebrated during the worship hour and a time of fellowship will follow the service. If you are new to the area or just looking for a church home, you will find a warm welcome at the United Methodist Church.
Sunday school classes are in recess for the summer, but there are ongoing Bible study groups that are always open for new members. Just call the church office at 235-4600 for information.
Looking further ahead you are invited to a “Rummage Sale with a Twist” on Saturday, July 10. Come to the church parking lot between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and find all sorts of wonderful treasures. The twist? Well, everything that is for sale is actually for free – just make a donation or reasonable offer and the treasures are yours!
