Incoming Fairchild Air Force Base commander Col. Paul Guemmer figures that over the course of four different Pentagon assignments he's spent close to 3,000 hours commuting back and forth in Washington D.C. traffic.
That's almost 120 days of drive time, and while demanding, it's not the reason he finally got his request granted to live and work in the other Washington further west.
