Linda Jo Engel passed away at Hospice House of Spokane on June 17, 2010 from cancer at the age of 57. She was born in Spokane on May 11, 1953.
She grew up and went to school in Cheney until she married and started raising a family in Medical Lake. She later moved to Spokane where she resided for many years while completing her family. She resided in Cheney, where she had grown up and moved back to later in life. Linda stayed home with her children for many years until she decided to go to work at Interlake in Medical Lake.
Linda was a well loved and highly admired woman, not only by her family but at her place of work for her dedication to her job and also for the love she showed for her clients and co-workers. She worked for Department of Social and Health Services for over 30 years. Linda started at Interlake and worked there until closing, then transferred to Lakeland Village. She loved her clients and her many co-workers like her own family. She also enjoyed crafts such as beading and baking. She spent many hours preparing different bead work for craft fairs to raise money and also for family and friends. During the holidays everyone waited in anticipation for her candy and baked goods such as English toffee and biscotti. Another fun pastime was going to the casino which she did while in hospice as well.
Linda was preceded in death by her father and mother Eldon and H. Elaine Engel. She is survived by her step-mother Delores Engel of Billings Mont., sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Dick Grimm of Yakima, brother Rick Engel of Cheney, daughter and son-in-law Dawn and Albert (Mooch) Moczygemba of Great Falls, Mont., her three sons and daughter-in-law Jaysen and Sueann Kuhn of Medical Lake; Michael Hibbs of Honolulu, Hawaii; and Travis Seimer of Cheney. She dearly loved her beautiful grand children, Blake and Sarah Moczygemba, and Orion Seimer, also her nieces and nephews. Linda's family would like to give a special thank you to Jean Ryan, one of Linda's lifelong friends for tireless support for Linda and family she spent every available moment by Linda's side.
No services are scheduled at this time. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House of Spokane. Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N. Government Way, Spokane, is in charge of arrangements.
