Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge has begun tracking elk migration patterns in the refuge area, thanks to funding and volunteers from a number of organizations.
The tracking study, begun in mid-March, is meant to measure the effects of a limited elk hunt planned for this fall, which is ultimately meant to keep elk from relying on the refuge for food and shelter.
