Jeremy John Richard Peters

Jeremy passed away Friday, March 5 at his home in Cheney. Our son, grandson, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend, Jeremy was a joy to all who knew him.

Born April 1, 1981,  in Spokane, Jeremy grew up in Rosalia, Wash., where he attended school, made many friends and lived most of his life.

Jeremy loved spending time with his big brother and best friend, Josh and his dad Dennis. Growing up together, they enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, trips to the Oregon coast and working on muscle cars and riding dirt bikes. He also loved spending time with his grandpa Dick.

The loss of his brother Josh three years ago was a tremendous loss to him that he never got over. We can find comfort that they are together again forever.

Jeremy's heart was as big as he was. Kind and compassionate, his whole life revolved around Josh's children, his nieces and nephews, Josalyn, C'iara and William. He was a very special part of their lives. Older than his cousins, Stephanie, Evan, Emily and Eric, he took them under his wing as well.

He was a 6'7” gentle giant with a keen sense of humor and quick wit that will be missed, but always remembered. Jeremy was loved by his family. Always very social, he enjoyed family gatherings and hanging out with his friends. Jeremy had a great gift of storytelling. His laugh was unmistakable and contagious.

He was a popular tattoo artist in Spokane and used his talents and creativity to develop original designs for his customers. Jeremy also loved being around his friends, music to the loudest extreme and enjoyed time spent at concerts with his friends.

Jeremy is survived by his father and stepmother, Dennis and Cheryl Peters, Cheney; mother and stepfather, Debbi and Randy Repp, St. John, Wash.; grandfather, Dick Shindler, Rosalia, Wash.; great grandmother, Frances Shindler, Rosalia, Wash.; aunts and uncles, Dave and Dana Jensen, Richland, Wash.; Sabrina Jones, Spokane; Kari Zabala, Spokane, Wash.; Kathleen and Tom Strobridge, Spokane, Wash.; Marlene Peters, Spangle, Wash.; Cheryl and Sam Roberts, Odessa, Wash.; Daryl and Charlotte Peters, Reedsport, Ore. and numerous cousins.

Jeremy was preceded in death by his brother Joshua Peters; his maternal grandmother, Judith Shindler; and his paternal grandparents, John and Wilma Peters.

A service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Rosalia Assembly of God Church.

Burial will follow at the Pine City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice.

In Remembrance of Jeremy:

“You can kiss your family and friends good-bye and put miles between you, but at the same time you carry them with you in your heart, your mind, your soul, because you do not just live in a world , but a world lives in you.“ -Frederick Buechner
