Shannon Renee Roloff passed on Jan. 10, 2010. She was born on March 8, 1962 to OJ and Richard (Dick) Cotes in Sandpoint, Idaho. She joined brothers Mark and Mike. She later attended school in Spokane at Shadle Park High School and SFCC. She worked at many different jobs including catering, banquets, and custom sewing and working at many places around Spokane, including Chapter 11, The Holiday Inn, The Riverside Room, Dress Me Beautiful, and Sodexo at SFCC.
The light of her life was her son Joshua, who was born on her birthday in 1981, and who remained her best friend throughout her life. Shannon met the love of her life in 2007, and married Norman Neal Roloff on July 7, 2007. They lived near Cheney and enjoyed each day together to the fullest, for the short time they had.
Shannon is survived by her husband Norm at their home; parents OJ and Richard Cotes of Spokane; son Joshua and partner Angie Smith; brothers Mike and Mark; aunts and uncles: Jim and Judy Shaw, Roger and Julie Cotes; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life picnic in Shannon's honor at a later date.
Our beautiful Shannon, we love you so –
We weren't quite ready to see you go.
Daughter, Sister, Mom and Wife,
You loved us all in your short life.
Loving mother, Josh will agree
Cat and dog lover, we could all see
Love of her life, as he turned out to be –
Norm is her ALL, through eternity.
Warm and loving, kind and sweet,
Grampa's girl, who loved him deep.
Seamstress, homemaker, caterer too –
Banquets, bookkeeping, organizing food…
You lived your life from day to day,
Doing what was needed all the way.
Feeding your family, friends and more –
Gracious hostess, never a bore.
Words can never quite describe –
Her shy sweet smile and clear blue eyes.
Her eye for details, style and grace –
Will live forever, in her place.
We'll miss you deeply, but God knew your pain –
Your earthly body failed you again.
Good-bye lovely Shannon, we'll always remember
Your wonderful smile, and your last December.
As one of the lives here on earth that you touched,
I'll think of you always, and miss you so much!
Written with much love by Linda Harris.
