Dennis passed away Jan. 24 at the VA Hospital in Spokane after a battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 26, 1932 in Missouri, one of 14 children. He graduated from high school in Oklahoma and served in the U.S. Army in the 1950s. He spent several years in California before moving to Four Lakes in 1996.
He spent his life working on farms and later in construction. Dennis was an avid square dancer and was a member of Star Shooters and Cheney High Fliers. His favorite song to dance to was “Beautiful Sound of Music.” Dennis also enjoyed fishing and gardening, and he loved to help people.
Dennis is survived by Mary, his wife of 16 years; his brothers Ted, Paul and Jim; six children; three stepchildren and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved them all dearly. Per his wishes, Dennis's body will be cremated.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 30 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene, 338 W. Betz Rd. in Cheney.
