William Jackson, lifetime resident of Cheney, passed away peacefully Nov. 24, 2009 at his home in Cheney. Billy was born April 8, 1959 in Spokane, Wash. to Harold and Helen Jackson and was raised in Tyler, Wash. During his high school years at Cheney High School, he played football, wrestled and made many lifelong friends. He graduated in 1977, a year later married Kellie Fields and together they raised three children.
Billy loved fishing, gardening, music, cooking, and Maui. He was extremely proud of his time spent working in the family business and recently had begun sharing his story with others through public speaking. He will be remembered for his smile, love of people and his prank jokes.
He is survived by parents Harold and Helen Jackson; Kellie Jackson and their children, September (Sam) Bustamante, Crystal (Chris) Valle, and Striker (Alysia) Jackson; brother Mike Jackson; sister Tammie (John) Shaw; grandchildren Destanie, Alyssa, Sammy, Jaiden, Faylisa and Braeden; and close friend Karen Shantler. He was preceded in death by brother Vernon Jackson in 1968. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3 at Emmanual Lutheran Church in Cheney. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
