A sign-up sheet to bring ingredients for the Bazaar lunch on November 7 is posted on the door to the Fireside Room. Please sign up for this, prepare baked goods and crafts and volunteer to work on the Bazaar. We hope this effort will complete the funding for the new stove and provide funds for church outreach.

Lots of hands made light work at last Sunday's Oktoberfest lunch and workday, shortened because the work was completed early. Many thanks to that crowd of workers.

United Methodist Church

Members of the United Methodist congregation will join many others in the community this week at two significant community events, both of which exemplify the wonderful helpfulness that abounds in a small town. On Friday evening many will attend the fundraiser dinner to raise money for Lorna Jarms' heart surgery. The spaghetti feed will be from 4-7 p.m. at Cheney High School.

On Saturday morning some of our congregation will help at the community coat drive distribution, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Salnave Elementary School, 1015 Salnave Rd. All who are in need of a warm winter coat should plan to be at Salnave on Saturday!

Others in the congregation will set out for a “Birthday Bunch Breakfast” at the Buckhorn Saturday morning. The no-host breakfast begins at 9 a.m. and will honor October birthdays.

Please join us for worship this Sunday morning at the United Methodist Church. The church is centrally located at 204 Fourth St. There are two worship services from which to choose, one at 8:30 a.m. and one at 11 a.m. In the absence of Rev. Terry Hall, Carol Kriegh will be speaking at both services.
