William M. Tavenner

William Tavenner, 88, died Sept. 30 in Phoenix, Ariz.

He was born in 1921 in Yakima and attended veterinary school at Washington State University. William owned the Cheney Veterinary Clinic for several years before retiring to Arizona with his wife Val. He was one of the only veterinarians in the area at the time and served farmers throughout the West Plains for many years. He and Val enjoyed raising race horses.

William is survived by his wife of 60 years, Valerie; children Dwight Tavenner, Cheryl Dodd of Spokane, Dawn Samons and Karen Tavenner.

William's body was cremated, per his wishes.
