Daniel Adams

Daniel Adams

Dan, age 67, passed away on Monday, Sept. 28 at the Hospice of Spokane House in Spokane after a courageous battle with cancer.

Dan grew up in Walsh, Colo. and attended Friends Academy in Haviland, Kan. He also attended the University of Arizona and Spokane Community College where he earned his A&P (Aircraft and Power Plant) license. Dan was always busy with his two passionate hobbies of flying and music.

He accomplished his life dream of building and flying his RV-8 if only for a few short years. He built and played his own cello, which gave him many hours of enjoyment. He participated in Cellobration at Eastern Washington University two times.

Dan was in the U. S. Navy from 1962-1966. He served aboard the U.S.S. Coucal stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He spent his working career with the Bureau of Reclamation at Glen Canyon Dam, Flaming Gorge Dam, and Grand Coulee Dam. He was also an electrician at Eastern Washington University for the past eight years. He enjoyed the friendship of his many co-workers very much.

Dan married his wife of 38 years, Janet, in Colorado. They have two children Rebecca (Josh) of Spokane and Jim (Jenny), recently of Gunnison, Col. They have three grandchildren: Micaiah, Teran, and Allegra. Dan and Janet enjoyed square dancing, hiking, cross-country skiing, and traveling. Dan was always ready to help his neighbors and friends with projects. As Janet would say, “Dan can fix anything.” And he did. Dan is preceded in death by his father, Wilbur Adams, brother, Roland Adams, and son, Robert Adams. Dan requested cremation and a private family memorial. No funeral services are scheduled. Memorial donations in his name may be made to Hospice of Spokane, P.O. Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99202. Cheney Funeral Chapel is caring for the family.
