Connie L. Retherford

Connie L. Retherford, 66, of Copperas Cove, Texas, passed away Monday, Sept. 21, 2009 at her residence.  

Connie was born Sept. 29, 1942 to Robert Martin and Corlyn (Loomer) Martin.  

She and her husband enjoyed many wonderful years together as she was a very faithful wife to an American soldier. They planted a Nazarene Church together in Germany. She was a very faithful person who loved God, reading his word and sharing the Lord with others. She was a member of the Cove Church of the Nazarene.

Connie worked as a cashier at the Copperas Cove Wal-Mart for 18 years.

She was a dedicated mother to her children and to those that considered her mom.

Her parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Norman Retherford of Copperas Cove; two sons, Norman Retherford II of Fort Sill, Okla. and Curtis Retherford of Austin; two daughters, Donna Ocha and her husband Martin of Lake Geneva, Wis. and Dianna Motley and her husband Mike of Leander; a brother, Jerry Hudson of Wash .; a sister, Nancy Blinn of California; aunt Shirley Loomer of Cheney; six grandchildren, two great grandchild and the many she treated as her own children.

The Retherford family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, 2009 at Cheney Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 2009 at the Cheney Church of the Nazarene.

Interment will follow at Spokane Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
